Carel Kraayenhof soloist with Chamber Orchestra St Petersburg during ‘Grachtenfestival aan de Maas’
Russian soul and Argentinian passion.
Renowned Chamber orchestra “Carpe Diem” from St. Petersburg in a special combination with bandoneonplayer Carel Kraayenhof.
The Chamber Orchestra St. Petersburg exists of very enthusiastic young musicians who nearly all studied on the well-established Nicolai Rimsky Korsakow Conservatory in St. Petersburg. The Chamber orchestra was initiated by musicians playing in the famous big orchestras of St. Petersburg, as there are the State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony of State Academic Chapel and the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre.
During this concert Carel Kraayenhof will play his new own composition “Compasion” which had its premiere on last 30# April with the Residentie Orkest in The Hague.
As a child Carel Kraayenhof found his great passion in music.
More than 43 years later the flaming passion of 8 years old Carel developed into a dazzling quenchless fire.
In the meantime he already wrote 30 own compositions of which a large part has been recorded and published.
As “Grachtenfestival aan de Maas” (Canal festival on the Meuse) we are proud that this concert will be led by a conductor from Thorn, Joost Smeets. Born and raised in
“ the white little town”, but now exploring and conquering the world with his enthusiastic and passionate appearance.
Concert: August 25 in Thorn, 16:00
