Tango Magia cancels Sexteto Canyengue for festival December 2012

Director of the festival, Marijke de Vries, notified the management of Sexteto Canyengue that, in spite of the confirmation for their performance, she unfortunately is not able to let the ensemble play during her festival.

The reason is that an external applicant for subsidy could not generate the necessary money for this festival and consequently Marijke can’t pay Sexteto Canyengue.

That is a pity, because Sexteto Canyengue would have had some nice news: the Sexteto is enlarged with cellist Jan Willem Troost.

Fortunately the tangoschool, Tango Argentino Amsterdam, of Arjan Sikking and Marianne van Berlo will give this renewing Sextet an opportunity to present itself to the fans on Sunday February 24, 2013, the year of the celebration of the 25th birthday of Sexteto Canyengue. Start at 21:00.
